How I Spend Time with God & Keep Motivated ...

Let's face it, life is full of ups and downs. And at the end of each day, we each owe it to our-selves to find motivation and strength to keep us going as we continue to pursue our true purpose!

I'm not gonna start preaching about how AMAZING God is (but know that He is)... however, I also understand that folks aren't at the same cross-walks in life. Meaning...I may be on this block and you may be miles ahead, behind or someplace entirely different on your path.

Either way, I wanted to share some tools that I use that keep me humble and at peace in a world that can be pretty crazy at times....

1. The Bible

I love my Tyndale New Living Translation (NLT) with Life Application Study Bible.  It's like you get the word w/ cheat sheets to help figure things out.

I bought one for my dad a few holidays ago and he loves it! So...I keep one in my desk at work (a smaller size) and a large print version at home and for travel because I like to keep Jesus right by me. 🤗

2. Daily Devotional

I'm back and forth with this one. But that's only because I feel it more important to read directly from the bible.

Don't get me wrong, devotionals are sweet and straight to the point, which is good if you are short on time and need  some word to get you through the day; until you have true quiet time.

I personally like "Our Daily Bread" and "In Touch" from Charles Stanley's ministry.

3. A Cute Journal

I loved journaling since I was a young girl. You capture moments in life, while meditating on what you've learned and enjoyed...what an awesome way to self-reflect.

I also like to journal what I've read in my personal bible study time (daily) and write out what I've read and how I can apply what the Holy Spirit is trying to share with me. There are even methods that people use for their bible/journaling process (check out the S.O.A.P method).

3. Bible Study Group

As weird and it may sound, my bible study group isn't affiliated with my churches. Yes, I have two, but I'll blog on that later. I actually found it through you know it...Google!!! 😏

So, now I'm an official Pinky Promise sister (Google "Pinky Promise"). I really like that the groups central purpose is so scripture based. (Side Note: the strong biblical views of this group rub some folk the wrong way....but bible IS BIBLE y'all  🤓).

And by the way, I'm not pushing this particular group on you, but I encourage you to find a group of like minded people in your area that you can meet with and discuss the word regularly. Even if y'all meet online...I truly encourage you to get your Jesus in as much as possible.

It is truly a beneficial process to your overall spiritual growth!!

😘😘😘
